The purpose of this thesis was to improve Shape Corporation's Quality standard in products and optimize the roll forming process. The thesis work utilized the SES (Shape excellence systems) Seven quality fundamentals on the production floor with the aim of a maximizing machine and inspection efficiency while minimizing downtime and the risk of sending non-conforming products to customers. The work specifically focused on eliminating start of shift green tag checks, in order to implement the First Part Approval process resulting in an increase in overall equipment efficiency. The work was conducted on one of the roll-forming mills (Roll 113), which roll forms 15 different parts for different customers. The thesis goes into depth on what each step of the Seven Quality Fundamentals stands for and how well the student has applied the steps needed in practice. The thesis also details the green tag reduction process and how this was completed in practice.
