Syftet med detta examensarbete är att undersöka hur personalen inom
småbarnspedagogiken stöder barn med intellektuell funktionsnedsättning i deras kommunikation samt hur personalen stöder barnets inkludering i barngruppen.
Vår undersökning genomfördes som en digital kvalitativ enkätstudie riktad till personal inom småbarnspedagogik som arbetar eller har arbetat med barn med intellektuell funktionsnedsättning inom de senaste tre åren. Enkäten sändes ut till några daghem i Österbotten.
Resultatet av vår undersökning visade att personalen inom småbarnspedagogiken är positivt inställda till att använda de hjälpmedel och verktyg för att främja inkludering hos barn med intellektuell funktionsnedsättning. Resultaten visade också att barn med intellektuell funktionsnedsättning får goda förutsättningar med stöd i deras kommunikation. Pedagogerna är mycket viktig med att barn med intellektuell funktionsnedsättning ska delta i samma aktiviteter som andra barn i barngruppen och aktiviteterna kan anpassa enligt barnet med intellektuell funktionsnedsättnings förutsättningar för att främja inkluderingen inom småbarnspedagogiken. The purpose of this degree project is to investigate how the staff in early childhood education supports children with intellectual disabilities in their communication and how the staff supports the child's inclusion in the children's group.
Our survey was conducted as a digital qualitative survey study aimed at staff in early childhood education who work or have worked with children with intellectual disabilities within the last three years. The survey was sent out to a few daycare centers in Ostrobothnia.
The results of our survey showed that the staff in early childhood education are positively inclined to use the aids and tools to promote inclusion in children with intellectual disabilities. The results also showed that children with an intellectual disability receive good conditions with support in their communication and the pedagogues are very important that children with an intellectual disability should participate in the same activities as other children in the children's group and that the activities can be adapted according to the conditions of the child with an intellectual disability to promote inclusion in early childhood education.
