Tiivistelmä
The main objective of this thesis was to examine what to take into consideration
when designing a costume concept for a character belonging to a medieval
fantasy setting. The topic has been researched by examining historically accurate
clothing from the medieval era, as well as utilizing previous medieval fantasy
media as case studies.
The production part of this thesis features a two-dimensional character
turnaround, the purpose of which is to display the costume design from three
different angles. The design has been built with the aid of the information
researched in the theory part of this thesis. To create more depth to the design,
the project could be explored further, especially in terms of general video game
costume design, as well as with some more specific research conducted on
historically accurate clothing and equipment.
