Tiivistelmä
Sydänpysähdys on yleinen kuolinsyy suomalaisessa aikuisväestössä.
Abstract
Cardiac arrest is a common cause of death among adults in Finland. Everyone should know the symptoms of a cardiac disorder, cardiopulmonary resuscitation and how to call for help early enough. The first response system, that provides help before the arrival of the paramedics, has been developed to expedite the delivery of lifesaving first aid.
The aim of the thesis was to develop and maintain the competence to perform A700 emergency tasks. The target group of the thesis were the first responder border guards of North Karelia Border Guard District. The objective of the thesis was to produce an educational video, which helps the first responders to maintain their preparedness. The content of the thesis was supervised by the paramedics of North Karelia Rescue Department responsible for the first responder training. The video was produced in cooperation with North Karelia Border Guard District and Rescue Department. The video was filmed at the premises of North Karelia Border Guard District and Joensuu Airport.
The educational video presents the A700 emergency task as a whole and according to the guidelines of North Karelia Border Guard District and Rescue Department. The video provides a good overview of executing the task. Future development possibilities could include more detailed teaching of communication and patient examination. Educational material on other emergency tasks could be considered.
