Tiivistelmä
Opinnäytetyö tehtiin kansainvälisellä huolinta-alalla toimivalle Blue Water Shipping A/S -yritykselle (BWS).
Digitalisaation vastainen muutosvastarinta esiintyy tuloksissa vahvasti. This Bachelor’s Thesis was done for a global freight forwarding company called Blue Water Shipping (BWS). The subject was related to developing the use of electronic driver’s reports used in the company, which would help to develop the work phases prior to the accounting of transport both in the target company itself and in the outsourced transport companies.
The theoretical part introduces Finnish forwarding industry and describes the application of Lean thinking to the thesis. In addition, the qualitative research methods used in the thesis are described. The empirical part describes the practical actions and process of enhancing the electronic driver’s report. The existing electronic document were updated, instructions of use were created and interview questions for the transport companies were created.
Four of ten transport companies started using the updated electronic driver’s report. The four transport companies used the electronic version before, while the remaining six, who did not use the electronic driving before, did not switch to use the new electronic driver’s report either. Resistance to change against digitization appears strongly in the results.
