The thesis gives an account of what an electronic invoice is and what types of electronic invoices are used today. The purchase invoice process is described, both regarding paper invoices and electronic invoices. The aim of the thesis is to study which type of e-invoice would be best suited for The Switch and if the company's suppliers are ready to send e-invoices. The company's current invoice process is described and an estimate is made about how the process could change if the company would receive e-invoices. Quantitative methods have been used in the studies. The study consists of a search in the records of Tieke, an e-mail inquiry to the most important suppliers about their ability to send e-invoices and a time study on time use regarding the invoice process. Based on the results of the study, a Finvoice electronic invoice would be the best alternative for The Switch as 66% of the company's suppliers could send this type of e-invoice. The introduction of the e-invoice would lead to a more effective invoice process and cost savings for the company. The response rate in the e-mail inquiry was 75% and can therefore been considered as a high reliability survey.
