This thesis details the process of creating marketing materials for the German microbusiness “Sanitär und Mehr”. It was written in objective-focused diary format documenting the project from the perspective of an independent freelancer working with a client in the form of a microbusiness run by a sole proprietor. The project took place over the course of 10 weeks, from July to September 2021, and was carried out remotely from Oulu, Finland. The thesis details tasks completed during the project, difficulties and their solutions, and final results. The author is a Business Information Technology (BIT) student in her last year of studies at Oulu University of Applied Sciences (OAMK).
The objective of this project was to create marketing materials and other associated materials while considering the small size of the business and its specific requirements. Marketing materials created during this project include business cards, letter templates, flyers, and envelopes, as well as PDF templates, promotional materials, and clothing. The author utilized Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and Acrobat Pro during the project. The objective of the thesis documentation is to document the everyday work of an independent freelancer and report on the different techniques and methodologies utilized during an average project.
As the result of the project, the client is able to utilize the marketing materials created by the author to improve their reach and thus, increase their revenue.
