Tiivistelmä
Toiminnallinen opinnäytetyö oli osa kuvin tuetun seikkailuleikin kehittämisprosessia. Opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena oli lasten osallisuuden vahvistaminen varhaiskasvatuksessa yhteisöllistä kielen kehityksen tuen menetelmää kehittämällä. Opinnäytetyön tavoitteena oli kehittää yhteisöllistä kielen kehityksen tuen menetelmää käyttäjälähtöisesti. Opinnäytetyön tehtävänä oli tuottaa opas ja kehittää materiaalia kuvin tuettuun seikkailuleikkiin.
Opinnäytetyön tiedonkeruu toteutui osallistavasti. Havainnoinnit toteutuivat kolmessa 2-5 -vuotiaiden pienryhmässä. Haastatteluilla kerättiin tietoa kuvin tuettua seikkailuleikkiä ohjaavilta kasvattajilta. He myös testasivat tuotoksena syntynyttä materiaalia leikin ohjauksissaan. Palautetta tuotoksena syntyneestä oppaasta kerättiin myös ulkopuolisilta kasvattajilta.
Opinnäytetyön tuotoksena syntyneet opas ja leikkimateriaalit otettiin käyttöön päiväkodeissa kerätyn palautteen mukaan tehtyjen muutosten jälkeen. Kasvattajat kokivat saaneensa työvälineen, joka tukee lasten osallisuuden vahvistamista lapsiryhmissä. Menetelmä ja tuotos herättivät laajempaakin kiinnostusta ja ne on mahdollista ottaa käyttöön muissakin päiväkodeissa. This practice-based thesis was part of the development process for picture-aided adventure play. The aim of this thesis was to strengthen children’s participation in early childhood education group by improving a communal support method for speech development. The goal of the thesis was user oriented improving of the method. The purpose of the thesis was to produce a guide and play material for picture-aided adventure play.
Data for this study was gathered by participatory methods. Observation was executed in three small groups of children from two to five years. Data from the picture-aided adventure play educators was gathered by interviews. They also tested the material in the play groups. Feedback of the created guide was also collected from other educators.
The thesis produced a guide and play material for picture-aided adventure play. The final products were serviceable for the early childhood education centres. The educators felt that they had a method to strengthen the children’s participation in early childhood education groups. The method and the products of this thesis have been of wider interest and they can be introduced in other early childhood education centres.
