Tiivistelmä
Opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena oli kehittää varhaiskasvatussuunnitelman mukainen, lapsilähtöinen ulkoilumalli. Syksyllä 2017 voimaan tullut varhaiskasvatussuunnitelma painottaa vahvasti lapsen osallistamista varhaiskasvatuksen arjessa.
Opinnäytetyön tuloksena on malli, mikä auttaa moninaistamaan varhaiskasvatuksen lapsilähtöisyyden mahdollisuuksia. Malli on kehitetty päiväkodin toimintaan sopivaksi.
The meaning of this bachelor’s thesis was to develop a child-oriented outdoor activities model according to early childhood plan. The early childhood education plan from 2017 emphasizes on the everyday involvement of the children in the early childhood. This requires a new way of work, a desire for experimentation, courage, and a desire to break the traditional practices in which the early childhood professionals plan, implement, and asses the everyday operation of the day-care center. My objective was to develop a model that supports child-oriented effort and is usable as such or applied.
The bachelor’s thesis was carried out by developing an outdoor activities model that is usable in day-cares without applying. The model includes six separete activity days that where implementes utilixing the nature and other outdoor spaces as a learning environment. The children participated in the planning process by drawing a picture of the outdoor activity that the child wanted to do with the day-care group and where the activity would happen. After analyzing the drawings I finalized the planing of the activity days that took into account every wish. In addition to planning and participation, the children participated in the assesment process. The assesment with the children was implemented using the pictures taken during the activity days and the drawings from the planning process. Every child chose one preferable picture from the taken pictures and afterwards the chosen pictures were printed out. Below the chosen pictures, a comment conserning the picture was documented from the child who made the selection and a drawing made in the planning stage including a description from the child.
When carrying out the outdoor activities model the enthusiasm, pride, and joy from the fact that their own ideas were heard and implemented was obvious from the children. The activitien of the day were discussed with the other children and early childhood professionals, immediately when returning to the day-care center and guardians of the children depicted that the children spoke of the day’s activities at home. The children were inrtigued to explore the pictures taken during the days and use then to support the discussion about the outdoor activities. The result of this bachelor’s thesis was a model that will help diversify the opportunities with the child-oriented early childhood education. The model is developed to be suitable with the activities in a day-care center.
