Information om menstruell hälsa och hygien till tonåringar är viktig för deras hälsa, värdighet, jämställdhet och lika möjligheter till lärande. Flickor har rätt till korrekt information om menstruation och hygien, näring och egenvård. Informationen bör vara lämplig och i enlighet med deras ålder och behov. Med tanke på den menstruella hälsans effekt i flickors välbefinnande, syftet är att ge information till skolhälsovårdare med hjälp av en digital broschyr om frågor gällande menstruation och tonåringar. En digitalt skapad broschyr är ett rimligt genomförbart alternativ som förser hälsovårdspersonal med en kontinuerlig tillgång till aktuell information för stöd i kliniskt beslutsfattande, vilket således hjälper unga kvinnor att fatta välgrundade beslut för deras menstruella hälsa. Bakgrundsdata har samlats in genom sökningar i Cinahl och PubMed, rekommendationer och riktlinjer i finsk hälsovård. Produkten är en broschyr som innehåller följande information: menarke och amenorré, menorragi och menorragi bedömning, dysmenorré, PMS, oregelbunden mens, rekommenderad diet, mensskydd och fördröjd mens. Produkten är framställd på svenska för att tillhandahålla tillgång till information i svenskspråkiga delar av Finland. Menstrual health and hygiene information to adolescents is playing an important factor in their health, dignity, gender equity and equal learning opportunities. Women have the right to access accurate information about menstruation and hygiene, nutrition, and self-care. The information should be timely and in accordance with their age and need. Considering the importance of menstrual health in adolescent’s wellbeing and health, the aim of this study is to provide information to school nurses on menstruation issues of adolescent females with the help of a brochure. A digitally created brochure is a viable alternative enabling healthcare personnel a continuous access to information assisting them with their clinical decision making, thus helping adolescent females to make informed decisions regarding their menstrual health. The target audience is PHNs working as school nurses at primary and secondary schools. The data in the background section has been collected through search in Cinahl and PubMed, recommendations and guidelines of Finnish health care. The product is a brochure and presents the following information: Menarche and amenorrhea, menorrhagia and evaluation, dysmenorrhea, PMS, irregular menstruation, recommended diet, menstrual hygiene product and menstruation suppression. The product is presented in Swedish language to render accessibility to information in Swedish speaking areas of Finland.
