Tiivistelmä
TIIVISTELMÄ
Walk in terapia on anonyymi ja ilman ajanvarausta toimiva matalan kynnyksen mielenterveyspalvelu, joka on suunnattu alle 29-vuotiaille nuorille. Walk in terapiakäynti on yksittäinen, mutta asiakas voi saapua paikalle halutessaan useamman kerran.
Opinnäytetyön tavoitteena oli tutkia asiakkaiden kokemuksia Walk in terapiakäynnistä. Opinnäytetyön työelämäkumppanina toimi Lasten ja nuorten keskus, joka koordinoi anonyymia Walk in terapiatoimintaa valtakunnallisesti. Paikallisesti toimintaa toteuttaa muun muassa seurakunnat ja kaupungit. Opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena oli saada työelämäkumppanille tietoa Walk in terapiakäynnistä toimipisteiltä valtakunnallisesti. Tutkimuksen toteuttaminen valtakunnallisesti mahdollisti työelämäkumppanille vertailun toimipisteiden välillä.
Tutkimusmenetelmänä käytettiin anonyymia kyselylomaketta. Paperista kyselylomaketta kerättiin Walk in terapiatoimipisteissä kolmen kuukauden ajan syksyllä 2023. Kyselyyn vastasi yhteensä 170 Walk in terapian asiakasta.
Tutkimustulosten mukaan asiakkaat kokivat Walk in terapiakäyntinsä hyödylliseksi.
Opinnäytetyö lisää tietoisuutta Walk in terapian hyödyllisyydestä. Opinnäytetyö tuotti työelämäkumppanille tietoa, jota voi hyödyntää Walk in terapiatoiminnan kehittämisessä.
ABSTRACT
Walk-in therapy is an anonymous, no-appointment, low-threshold service for young people under 29 years old. A Walk-in therapy session is a single visit, but the client can come more than once if they want.
The aim of the thesis was to explore the clients' experiences of the Walk-in therapy. The working life partner of the thesis was LNK – The Finnish Association for Children and Youth, which coordinates anonymous Walk-in therapy nationwide. Locally, Walk-in therapy activities are carried out by parishes and cities, among others. The purpose of the thesis was to get information about the Walk-in therapy visits from the nationwide offices for the working life partner. Conducting the study nationwide enabled the working life partner to compare the different offices.
An anonymous questionnaire was used as the research method. A paper questionnaire was collected at Walk-in therapy offices for three months in autumn 2023, with a total of 170 Walk-in therapy clients completing the questionnaire.
The results of the study showed that clients found their Walk-in therapy sessions useful. Clients felt themselves heard during the therapy session and were able to be open. The results showed that clients received, among other things, discussion support, solutions to problems and solutions to relationships.
The results show that clients have experienced benefits from Walk-in therapy. The responses suggest that clients seek help for a variety of problems and that the therapist needs to be able to meet clients in different life situations. The thesis raises awareness of the usefulness of Walk-in therapy. The thesis provided the working life partner with information that can be used in the development of Walk-in therapy activities.
