Tiivistelmä
Urbanisation offers immense possibilities for better social and health care services. Citizens’ social potential can be utilised in social and health care in voluntary work, peer support and advocacy groups. But how do you encourage people to care for and help their fellow citizens?
The aim of this publication is to introduce a few theoretical questions about urban health and some results of the Urban Health study module implemented at the Turku University of Applied Sciences. The study module provides students with an understanding of the complexity of urban health and well-being with the purpose of preparing them to work with urban health issues in their future work life as fully trained professionals.
