Tiivistelmä
The study focused on examining the changes in aquatic vegetation in three lakes in southern Häme region. The study looked at aquatic vegetation in its broader sense – including species that are able to grow dominantly in water, are commonly found in deep water, or are to some extent adapted to the conditions in which they grow. The thesis mainly used the vegetation mapping material provided by Vanajavesikeskus and utilized it in both written and visual analyses. After the results were completed, it was obvious that two of the lakes showed signs of eutrophication and a large increase in plant species - in one, on the other hand, the trend was the opposite. Another detailed research question, in addition to species changes and coverage of aquatic vegetation, were alien species and the question of whether they are found and how their development has progressed in the lakes. Although alien species were observed in two of the lakes, their share of the local species was very small.
