Tiivistelmä
This thesis delves into the present and future landscape of wireless networking, concentrating on the comparison between Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) and Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax). WiFi 6 demonstrates notable enhancements, particularly in addressing challenges related to crowded environments, enhancing power efficiency through features such as OFDMA, and bolstering security with innovations such as Target Wake Time. The research also envisions a promising future, exploring potential breakthroughs in terahertz frequencies, integration of artificial intelligence, and the application of quantum communication principles. Despite potential costs associated with hardware upgrades, the thesis asserts that Wi-Fi 6 stands out as an attractive option, promising a faster, more efficient, and secure wireless experience. The findings overall indicate a transformative evolution in wireless technology.
