Anxiety and Stress are two common mental health issues that affect people of all ages, including nursing
students. In nursing students, due to the nature of studies, mental health issues play an integral role in
learning ability. Academic performance, practical training in a variety of clinical settings, as well as events in
personal life, increases the risk of mental health conditions.
The aim of this thesis was to find out the factors linked to feelings of anxiety and stress in nursing students
throughout the studies. The purpose was to provide information about the nursing student's experiences
and the causes of stress and anxiety. The research question was What are the nursing students experienced
factors causing feelings of anxiety and stress in nursing studies?
For this study, the information was gathered by the implementation of a literature review. Data was searched
from the PubMed and CINAHL databases. After conducting the selection of articles, data consisted of the
final 6 articles. Analysis was done as a content analysis. The main themes raised from the data were factors
related to academic achievement, factors related to clinical practice, and factors related to adaptation.
In Conclusion, several factors were identified. Students in nursing studies were more prone towards feelings of anxiety and stress as well as were higher in experiencing mental health issues in comparison to
other students. Due to the negative experiences of anxiety and stress in nursing students, it affects their personal
life as well.
