This diary-based thesis follows the author’s professional development as an Agile Coach at OKP4. OKP4 Open Knowledge Platform For… is a small startup focusing on developing the decentralized protocol based on the blockchain technology. The main objective of this thesis is to capture the progress of the author as she takes charge of the organizational changes at the company, aiming to enhance her agile expertise, coaching and leadership skills.
The author conducts a research among the employees to evaluate the impacts of the agile organizational transformations she is intending to introduce to face the challenges of remote work. The thesis will delve into the implications of transitioning to an asynchronous way of working, taking multiple steps to reach it.
The thesis documents the phases of research, analysis, and the beginning of the implementation of the intended organizational changes. They include enhancing written communication, reducing the frequency of meetings, promoting the culture of autonomy and feedback. The research phase includes theoretical background and interviews. The analysis phase covers the examination and evaluation of the interview results which proved the need for mentioned agile transformations to improve remote work and internal processes. Implementation phase follows the path of putting the initial changes into practice.
The observation period covered the months of August and September 2023. During this time, the author has demonstrated a significant progress in her coaching and leadership skills, while ensuring a stable transition to an asynchronous way of working. The author manages to achieve her objectives of professional development set from the beginning
