Tiivistelmä
The use of phone calls to pass vital information and deliver laboratory test results between healthcare service providers, patients and healthcare professionals is becoming a thing of the past.
Though the use of Kanta, Omaolo, and Terveyskylä electronic services have become very useful in Finland, adequate knowledge of their Usability and accessibility for the elderly is lacking. Hence, this thesis aims to assess the accessibility and Usability of Kanta, Omaolo, and Terveyskylä electronic services from the elderly person's perspective and the difficulties they have using the e-health services. It will promote and improve the knowledge of electronic health services available to the elderly people for service providers.
This thesis employs a qualitative research-based method through observation of Kanta, Omaolo and Terveyskylä services. Qualitative data was collected, analysed, and coded into themes based on the criteria of accessibility and Usability.
The authors of this thesis were able to provide information that will promote and improve the knowledge of electronic health services available to the elderly people for service providers and shed light on the issue of Usability and accessibility of e-health services.
The results of this thesis are based on the accessibility and Usability of Kanta, Omaolo and Terveyskylä.
On accessibility, the results are on variables like availability, openness, convenience and receptiveness, while Usability is based on effectiveness, efficiency, learnability, and satisfaction of the users, especially the elderly people.
