Tiivistelmä
The objective of this diary thesis was to analyse a ten-week period of working as an application manager. The purpose of the thesis was to create guidelines for more effective customer meetings and to interview a company for a lost sales case analysis. Additionally, the purpose was to develop personally to be able to keep up with schedules and to improve reporting and the overall performance.
The theoretical framework heavily relies on the author’s experience and know-how having worked in the industry for several years. To back up the knowledge the author has used several references. Additionally for data collection he interviewed a customer company via e-mail to gain information on the selected subjects.
The main outcome of the thesis is that the author has learned to adjust his behaviour when dealing with different cultures that often have different buying behaviours. For the organization the outcome of the thesis was to understand the importance of a local service as an important selection criterion of a supplier in each geographical market area where the company operates.
