Tiivistelmä
This thesis aims to find the differences and similarities of water supply in Petrozavodsk and Oulu. In addition, it discusses what there is to learn. In the work, you learn more about water resources in Russia and Finland, the quantity and quality of the water resources. The thesis shows and describes the water supply and distribution systems of both of the cities. This work also presents the treatment stations and their processes of Petrozavodsk and Oulu. Literature has been in a key position in studying the water supply systems. The most challenging part was how to take into account the different approaches in Finland and Russia. Exchanging of knowledge helps to identify the good practices as well as the problems and their solutions.
