The topic of this Bachelor’s thesis is about the making of a 2D platform endless runner game using the Unity Engine. This thesis involves the designing and developing of various aspects of the game, including level design, character movements, obstacle design, procedural generation, and graphics. This thesis also provides an overview of 2D platform endless runner games and the making of it by introducing the tools and resources for creating this type of game. By breaking down its process, this thesis will provide the details of what step is needed to create a 2D plaptform endless runner game.
The result product for the thesis is a prototype game called “Kaizo”, a 2D plat-form endless runner. The game was mostly completed within the available predetermined time, with the only missing feature being the background music and sound effects. Additional playtesting will be needed to further balance the game mechanics, mostly from the player’s movement such as speed, jump force and gravity.
