Tiivistelmä
In this work, a study will be carried out on the import of pets into Finland for non-commercial use, namely domestic cats and dogs. Since the import process itself has certain rules and requirements, the importation of pets also requires special attention and familiarization with the customs and veterinary rules and requirements related to the import of pets. Since the number of social connections has decreased recently due to the pandemic, having a pet contributes to their increase, and with the development of remote work opportunities, it has also become possible to communicate with a pet more often and take better care of it. Although Finland has a well-represented variety of cat and dog breeds, the issue of importing pets is still relevant for many reasons, such as the availability of a certain breed and the cost of a pet. The theoretical part of the diploma deals with the definition of imports and delivery methods. The methodology considers the research methods on this issue, namely the theoretical description of the qualitative analysis, and the choice of the method that is used in this diploma to collect information. In the main part of the diploma, useful information is collected and structured regarding the Movement of a pet from abroad to Finland. It includes a description of the rules and necessary documents for moving a pet both from the EU countries and from outside it. In the final part, conclusions are drawn based on the analysis, the survey of respondents, and the study of the materials used.
