Tiivistelmä
This thesis focuses on the topic of improving agro exports in Kazakhstan. The aim is to see how to increase the volume of agro products from Kazakhstan to Finland. Studying the experience of Finland will give Kazakhstan a positive effect on the mutual trade between the countries.
To achieve the objective, research methods such as comparative research and qualitative content analysis were used. The aim of the study was to answer the following research question: What factors have influenced the low volume of Kazakhstan's agro exports to Finland? The empirical thesis study related to the necessary fundamental steps in the import of agricultural products from Kazakhstan to Finland.
The use of qualitative and quantitative research methodology helped gain an in-depth understanding of the requirements of the export process, and recommendations for improving exports between the countries were made. The study begins with a description of international trade theory and of Kazakhstan's and Finland's public policies and procedures, their advantages and disadvantages. The study was conducted by scheduling interviews with employees of companies, mainly from the food industry, who already had experience in export. Employees of the public authorities, Atameken Holding, WTP and private companies from Kazakhstan were also interviewed. The results of the interviews and other analyses, such as SWOT content analysis and Heckcher Ohlin methods, show that the main factors for the low share of agro exports are barriers imposed by the states. Recommendations for improving the export climate in Kazakhstan using the Finnish experience are provided.
