Tiivistelmä
Stress and stress related symptoms are a growing issue for organizations and the employees working in these organizations. People in marketing agencies work in a fast-paced, interruption sensitive and constantly changing environment, this makes time management one of the key elements in managing stress. This study focuses on the problems of stress and reasons for stress in particular marketing agency in Finland and how these correlates to time management. The outcome of the study is to get insight from the employees aboutwhat can be done in relation to time management to reduce stress.
All the employees received a questionnaire that consisted of a set of questions about their
stress status, measures taken to reduce stress and time management tools. The survey
was conducted via SurveyMonkey. The survey gathered thirty (30) responses, 83% of the
employees answered the questionnaire. The collected answers were then analyzed and
compared to secondary data gathered.
The findings of the study suggest that stress is a common issue at the company and that
employees have taken different approaches to reducing stress. Some of the approaches
are not healthy, such as working overtime or working on weekends. One collective finding
from the data is that employees lack time management structures, processes, knowledge
and tools. Getting Things Done (GTD) could be a potential method to implement across the company as a way for time management.
Study is limited by the small sample size and that it is conducted in one company in Finland, which affects the findings universal applicability
