Overview of the main challenges to the Business to Consumers eCommerce SME industry since the COVID-19 pandemic. This thesis research studies the challenges to the B2C SME eCommerce industry to highlight the MACRO threats that filter down into the MICRO business environment. It is essential as SMEs make up the majority of GDPs globally, and there is a lack of support in today's volatile global business environment. The research method was to explore the MICRO business environment from current eCommerce SMEs directly. To gain first-hand primary data insight into the main threats and challenges SMEs are experiencing and then compare to the research MACRO threats. The findings answer the research questions and highlight that eCommerce SMEs are more directly affected by current MACRO threats within their MICRO business environment than they realise. The awareness is that SMEs, especially eCommerce SMEs, need more protection and assistance from policymakers and governments to prepare against MACRO threats, such as technology, economic and environmental challenges. Better access to resources is required to help prepare SMEs for the worst-case scenarios influenced by MACRO threats.
