Tiivistelmä
Työn tarkoituksena oli kehittää konkreettisia parannuksia Landis+Gyr:n Jyväskylän tuotekehitysyksikön toiminnallisen testauksen testausympäristöön, nimeltään ”Four-Corner”. Four-Corner on yksi merkittävimmistä Jyväskylän yksikön HW-testausympäristöistä, jossa testataan testattavan laitteen, yleensä sähkömittarin, pääominaisuudet ääriolosuhteissa laitteen teknisen käyttöalueen mukaan. Testiympäristöä on jatkuvasti päivitettävä vastaamaan testattavien laitteiden kehityskulkua. Testattavat laitteet testasivat osittain itse itseään esimerkiksi I/O-liitäntöjen osalta. I/O-liitäntöjen testauksen kehittäminen olikin keskiössä kehitysprojektin aikana. Paras ja ajankohtaisin tieto testijärjestelmän tilanteesta, sekä kehityskohteista saatiin ympäristön testaajilta, joihin itsekin lukeudun.
Projektin lopputuloksena syntyi uusi testijärjestely, jossa aiemman testijärjestelmän merkittävimmät puutokset on otettu huomioon. Testattavat laitteet ovat sijoitettuna alumiiniseen testiräkkiin testauksen ajaksi. Uusi, kehitetty testiräkki parantaa testausympäristön muokattavuutta, turvallisuutta, sekä käytettävyyttä. Käsin tehtävän johdotustyön osuutta saatiin pienennettyä huomattavasti, mikä oli yksi tärkeimmistä tavoitteista projektin alussa. Uuden testiräkin testaukset voitiin suorittaa onnistuneesti, vaikka käytännön työ olikin vielä hieman vaiheessa ilmenneiden aikatauluongelmien, sekä tilattujen tarvikkeiden toimitusvaikeuksien takia. Tämän vuoksi testiräkin täydellinen kokoaminen ei ollut mahdollista, jotta se voitaisiin ottaa varsinaiseen testikäyttöön, vaan kokoonpano tullaan viimeistelemään myöhemmin, opinnäytetyöprojektin ulkopuolella. Testauksen tuloksena voitiin todeta, että johdotukset, sekä muut testijärjestelyt uudessa testiympäristössä olivat onnistuneesti toteutettu. Four-Corner-testausympäristön kehitystyöt jatkuvat tämänkin toteutetun uudistuksen jälkeen. Toteutettu muutostyö oli kuitenkin merkittävä, joka tulee jatkossa vähentämään testaajien työkuormaa merkittävästi, samalla lisäten työturvallisuutta. The aim of the study was to develop improvements to the existing functional testing environment named “Four-Corner”, at Landis+Gyr Ltd. R&D site in Jyväskylä, Finland. The Four-Corner is a hardware testing environment concerning the functional testing of smart metering devices, particularly electricity meters. The tester must be constantly developed to correspond to advancement of devices under test. The Four-Corner testing process is involving functional testing at extreme operating conditions according to the device’s technical operating range. The former test setup had deficiencies in terms of safety, adaptability, and accessibility, that needed to be resolved during the development project. One of the most consequential goals of the work was to save employee resources regarding Four-Corner testing in the future, since the automated testing was still requiring considerable manual set up work. Additionally, the functional verification of physical I/O-connections such as relay outputs, were under more precise scope. The study was strongly relying on the experience and opinions of the concerned test operators, including my-self, although the views of others were also taken into consideration. That was because the test opera-tors were having the most topical and relevant information of the state, weaknesses and needs of the testing system.
As a result, a new test setup was generated and implemented to substitute the former test arrangements that were partially insufficient. The result involved new, more generic, and accessible aluminum test rack, where the tested devices are positioned for testing. The new test setup provided significant updates to the system, that are easing the setup assembly, while increasing safety at the same time. With the implemented improvements, manual set up work will be decreased, which was one of the main goals in the beginning of the project. Testing of the new system was successfully operated, which confirmed that the new setup was functioning as planned. Nevertheless, due to some scheduling and product delivery issues, the new setup could not be perfectly completed, thus the rest of the implementation work will be performed later, outside of the thesis project. In conclusion, the development work of the Four-Corner will still be continued in the future, while the newly implemented updates were just one, substantial step forward concerning the testing process development.
