Kyselyn tulosten perusteella laadittu opas antaa tärkeää tietoa pk-yrityksille maksuvaikeuksien hoidosta ja ehkäisystä, jotta maksuvaikeudet voitaisiin välttää jo ennen trattamaksuvaatimuksen saapumista. On the background of the thesis is a amendment of credit information law, which lengthened the earliest possible day of protest from 10 days to 21 days as of the date of submission of the tratta payment demand.
There is debt collection, corporate colletion, tratta collection and the protest of a tratta handled in the theory part of the thesis.
In this thesis there were examined experiences and opinions of SME companies about lengthening the protest period and its effects to financial difficulties of SME companies. Besides these there were studied general economic state of SME companies, depth of financial difficulties and ways to survive from them. As a part of the thesis I created a guide to SME companies about how to prevent and remedy financial difficulties. The goal of this thesis is to examine how the amendment of the credit information law affects to SME companies in their everyday activities and to produce a guide to SME companies about preventing payment difficulties to avoid deeper payment difficulties.
The style of this thesis is explanatory study, because in this thesis there were studied general experiences and opinions of companies about the subject of thesis. There were used quantitative research method in this thesis, more precisely a query. Target group of the query was SME companies, which had suffered financial difficulties during COVID-19 pandemic. Query was distributed via social media.
Results of the query showed that longer protest period worked as the way of government evaluation said and the target groups experiences of the longer protest period were mostly positive. There were also negative effects, but positive effects were bigger than negative effects. The guide was made based on results of the query, and it gives important information to SME companies about preventing and remeding financial difficulties, that they would avoid their payment difficulties even before they would receive a tratta payment demand
