The objective of this research was to investigate the recruitment process of the home care company, Koti-Medi Oy, and provide assistance in improving the business’s current recruiting procedures. The focus of this thesis is based on the recruitment experiences of current staff members. The company could benefit from this research by considering the data gathered from the employees to enhance the company’s recruitment process.
This study has used the selection flow chart by Roberts (1997) as the theoretical framework. The student has selected this as the knowledge base for this research, as it has all the components needed to carry out this study.
Soft systems methodology, a qualitative method and interpretative philosophy was deemed as the most useful for this thesis. A questionnaire and the researcher’s observation were used to analyse how the company conducts its recruitment process and to determine which channels are being utilised to accept new applications. A summary of the respondents’ answers is provided on the appendix page of this study to show how the student came up with different themes for the data analysis of this thesis.
The recommendation of this study is a combination of the responses gathered from the data and the student. In conclusion, the researcher will discuss the possible actions the company can do to further enhance the recruitment process such as adapting a standard procedure for their recruitment process and/or designating a position for a recruitment personnel to provide assistance in the process.
