Tiivistelmä
This functional thesis is based on creating an information session package. The information session was created to strengthening the relationship between child protection services, daycare staff, and daycare families, as well as tackling the negative stereotypes staff and parents have concerning child protective services.
This thesis includes the materials needed to conduct the session and supports the aims of the National Core Curriculum for Early Childhood Education and Care as well as the aims of the Child Welfare Act. The thesis was conducted in conjunction with a working life partner, a Vantaa daycare setting, to establish the content of the materials. The materials included in the session are the Likert scale questionnaire; PowerPoint presentation and
Leaflet/Poster.
The information sessions would be held by a professional with expertise in both daycare and child protection work. The session would be delivered in daycare settings for staff and parents/carers alike. The information session and leaflets allow for daycare staff and families to hold open discussions regarding the available support for their child and family or regarding child protection clientship. It also increases current information on child protective services and addresses common myths.
