The petroleum industry is one of the most important industries in a country. Its products support the entire chemical industry and making a large contribution to the economy. However, the petroleum industry that uses petroleum as a raw material has caused considerable damage to the environment, and its wastewater contains a variety of pollutants like oil, sulfur, ammonia, phenolic substances. These substances are harmful to the environment.
The wastewater treatment technology is continuously developed such as MBR, advanced oxidation methods, cyclones. This paper mainly discusses petroleum process wastewater nature source, machine treatment process and oily wastewater treatment method. Finally, it is concluded that oily wastewater needs to strengthen pretreatment and pay more attention to science and technology such as MBR, advanced oxidation method.
