Tiivistelmä
Tämän opinnäytetyön aiheena oli perehtyä varastointiin ja sitä ohjaaviin tekijöihin sekä kartoittaa Vuola Trucks and Trailers Ky:n varaston nykytilaa. Työn tavoitteena oli kehittää varaston tilankäyttöä suuntaan, jossa se kykenee paremmin ja tehokkaammin tukemaan korjaamon toimintaa.
Opinnäytetyö suoritettiin työnteon ohella ja sen tarkoituksena oli tunnistaa ja kehittää nykyisessä tilankäytössä olevia parannuskohteita. Opinnäytetyö toteutettiin tutustumalla varaston suunnittelusta kertovaan kirjallisuuteen. Tärkeässä osassa olivat myös yrityksen nykyisen varastotilan tarkastelu sekä työskentelytapojen havainnointi. Opinnäytetyössä selvitettiin myös henkilökunnan mielipiteitä.
Työn tulokseksi muodostui korjaamotilan layout, joka pyrkii vastaamaan tilassa oleviin epäkohtiin. Epäkohtien korjaamisella voidaan tehostaa varaston toimintaa vähentämällä aikahukkaa, joka muodostuu tarpeettomasta tavarankäsittelystä. Muodostunutta layout- suunnitelmaa pidettiin kokonaisuudessaan hyvänä sekä toimivana ja sitä voidaan pitää esiselvityksenä mahdolliselle varaston uudelleensuunnittelulle. The subject of this thesis was to get acquainted with warehousing and the factors that guide it as well as survey the current condition of the warehouse at Vuola Trucks and Trailers Ky. The aim of this thesis was to develop warehousing in a way that it operates better and more effectively.
This thesis was completed while working in the company and it aims to identify and develop the imperfections in the current use of space. Thesis was accomplished by familiarizing the literature about warehouse space planning. Key parts included the inspection of the current space and the observation of work methods used in the workshop. This thesis also benefited the views of the staff.
The result of this thesis was a layout that addresses the defects in the current space. Fixing these issues will improve the operation of the warehouse by reducing the time lost in excess handling of items. The new layout was considered good and functional.
The layout that this thesis provided can be viewed as an initial report for the possible redesigning of the warehouse.
