Tiivistelmä
Turvapaikkaprosessiin 2015 jälkeen tehtyjen muutosten myötä naiset ovat erittäin haavoittuvassa asemassa turvapaikkaprosessin aikana. Turvapaikkaprosessissa palvelujärjestelmä ei aina tunnista naisten haavoittuvaa asemaa. Kaikkien naisten talo on heinäkuussa 2017 käynnistynyt Turun Valkonauha ry:n hanke. Hankkeen tarkoitus on tukea haavoittuvassa asemassa olevien maahanmuuttajataustaisten naisten ja heidän perheidensä osallisuutta päiväkeskustoiminnan ja vapaaehtoistoiminnan kautta.
Tutkimuksemme tavoitteena on tutkia Kaikkien naisten talo -hankkeen merkitystä haavoittuvassa asemassa oleville naisille ja kuinka hanke tukee sekä edistää naisten osallisuutta ja toimijuutta. Tavoitteena on myös tuoda näkyväksi sitä, miksi juuri naiset tarvitsevat tukea turvapaikkaprosessin aikana. Tutkimuksemme on toteutettu haastattelemalla Kaikkien naisten talon asiakkaina olevia kahdeksaa naista, joita paperittomuus on koskettanut. Haastattelu toteutettiin kvalitatiivisen tutkimuksen periaatteita noudattaen, teemahaastattelulla.
Tutkimuksemme tuloksista kävi ilmi, että Kaikkien naisten talo -hankkeen tavoitteet ovat toteutuneet hankkeen aikana. Hanke vahvisti naisten toimijuuden kokemuksia, kasvatti naisten tietoisuutta oikeuksistaan, lisäsi aktiivisuutta liikkua kodin ulkopuolella ja loi naisille tukiverkoston ammattilaisista, tukihenkilöistä ja muista naisista. Naiset ovat tulleet myös tietoisemmiksi palveluista, joihin heillä on oikeus. Kaikkien naisten talo on vahvistanut toiminnallaan heidän itsetuntoaan ja pystyvyyttään. Due to changes made to the asylum process after 2015, women are in an extremely vulnerable position during the asylum process. The asylum process does not always recognize vulnerable situation of the women. House for all women project by Turun valkonauha ry started in July 2017. The aim of the project is to support the vulnerable women with immigrant backgrounds and their families through the means of the day center and voluntary activities.
The aim of our study is to investigate the significance of the House for all women -project the women in vulnerable position and to evaluate how the project supports and promotes the inclusion and participation of women. Furthermore, the aim is to make more visible why indeed women need the support during the asylum process. The study was conducted by interviewing eight women who either had been undocumented or were undocumented who are customers at the House for all women. The interviews were carried out as thematic interviews, following the principles of qualitative research.
Our results showed that the goals set by the House for all women project have been achieved during the project. The project strengthened the feeling of inclusion for the women, raised awareness of their legal rights, increased the activity to move outside their homes and created a support safety network of professionals, support people and other women. The women have become more aware of the services they are entitled to. All in all, House for all women project has boosted their confidence and strengthened their capabilities through their actions.
