Azimuth thrusters are increasing in use as the primary propulsion systems aboard ships. In order to more adequately prepare students in the operation of azimuth thrusters, smaller scale working models are proposed in this thesis; smaller boats that afford students the opportunity to train with azimuth thrusters, to feel the g-forces affected upon them, as well as how maneuvering is different not only from traditional propeller- udder systems but also between different configurations of azimuth thrusters.
