Suunnitelma lastenkodin ohjaajan käsikirjasta

Abstract

Opinnäytetyön tavoitteena on luoda suunnitelma lastenkodin ohjaajan käsikirjasta. Työn perustana on alan tutkimukseen perustuva tieto. Lisäksi perustaan on vaikuttanut tekijän oma, 14-vuotinen, työkokemus lastensuojelun sijaishuollosta. Otsikot käsikirjaan on kerätty alan tutkimuksesta. Tiedonkeruun menetelmänä on käytetty kattavasti alan kirjallisuutta sekä kolmea haastattelua, joista kaksi on asiantuntijahaastattelua ja yksi ryhmähaastattelu. Tulokset haastatteluista on aukikirjoitettu työhön lyhyesti.

Teoriaosuus käsittelee toimintaa ohjaavia lakeja, joista tärkein on lastensuojelulaki. Lisäksi teoriaosuudessa käsitellään sosiaalityön arvokenttää sekä lapsen oikeuksia sekä lapsen asemaa sijaishuollossa. Näiden lisäksi käsikirjan teoriaosuudessa avataan perheiden kanssa tehtävän työn lainalaisuuksia sekä työntekijän osaamista ja työkäytäntöjä.

Tutkimusmenetelmäosuudessa kerrotaan työn rakenteesta sekä mallista, jolla työ on tehty. Työ on tehty konstruktivistisen mallin mukaisesti kuitenkin siten, että varsinainen valmis tuotos jää odottamaan jatkojalostamista. Haastattelut on tehty puolistrukturoitua lomakehaastattelua hyödyntäen ja niiden tulokset ovat aukikirjoitettu työhön.

Suunnitelma lastenkodin ohjaajan käsikirjan sisällöstä on kirjoitettu auki kattavasti ja sen sisältö on käyty läpi haastatteluissa siten, että jokaisen otsikon kohdalla on pohdittu, liittyykö se lastenkotityöhön. Oppaan johdannossa käydään läpi sitä, miten lapsi päätyy sijaishuollon asiakkaaksi sekä ohjaajan tehtäviä lastenkodissa. Lisäksi siinä kerrotaan tiedonkeruun menetelmästä sekä siitä, miten sitä hyödynnetään itse oppaan laatimisessa. Oppaan ensimmäinen otsikko käsittelee lastenkotityön perusteita, kuten työn suunnittelun tärkeyttä. Toisessa kokonaisuudessa keskitytään lastensuojelun sijaishuollossa olevan asiakkaan asemaan ja oikeuksiin. Kolmannessa kokonaisuudessa puolestaan käsitellään perheiden kanssa tehtävää työtä ja siinä mm. käydään läpi asiakkaan kohtaamista. Neljäs osio keskittyy työntekijän osaamiseen ja siinä käsitellään muun muassa osallisuutta ja sen tärkeyttä lastenkotityössä. Jokaisen osion otsikot ovat aukikirjoitettu hyödyntäen alan kirjallisuutta sekä suuressa osassa olevaa lastensuojelulakia ja alan eettisiä periaatteita.

Viimeisessä osiossa pohditaan työn jatkojalostamista valmiin oppaan muotoon sekä sen käyttöönottoa.

The goal of this thesis is to create a plan for a handbook for children’s home worker. The thesis is based on knowledge of a research. Additionally, the personal experience of 14 years in the child’s protection substitute care of the author has influenced the base. The headlines for the handbook have been taken from latest research of child’s protection and other important areas have been added at the discretion of the author. Data has been collected from literature as well as by three interviews, of which two are specialist interviews and one a group interview. The results of the interviews are summarised in the thesis.

The theory-section concentrates on the laws that govern operation, child welfare law being the most important one. Additionally, theory-section covers social work’s values and children’s rights and state in substitute care. The theory section also contains parts about work with families, knowhow of a worker and work practices.

The methods-section covers the structure and model of the work. The constructive model has been used except for the actual handbook which will wait for further work. The interviews utilize semi-structured form interview-model and the results are summarised in the thesis.

The plan for the handbook is written in detail and thoroughly and the contents are reviewed in the interviews by considering the relevance of each headline to work at the children’s home. The introduction of the headline concerns how a child becomes a customer in substitute care and the duties of a worker in substitute care. Additionally, it describes a method for data collection and how to utilize it in the creating of the handbook. The first headline of the handbook concerns on the grounds of la work in children’s home, such as the importance of planning the work. The next part concentrates on the position and the rights of the customer of a substitute care. The third part concerns the work with families in children’s home and examines, among other things, how to approach the customer. The fourth part concentrates on the know-how of the employee and explores, among other things, inclusion and its importance in a work at substitute care. Each headline is then elaborated on using literature and the influential child welfare law as well as the ethical principles of the field.

The final part considers the further refining of this work into a completed handbook and its deployment to practical use.
