Tiivistelmä
Ikääntyneiden määrä suomessa arvioidaan nousevan nykyisestä16%: ista 26%: iin vuoteen 2030 mennessä. Suomessa suurin osa ikääntyneistä asuu kotona itsenäisesti ilman säännöllisiä terveys- tai sosiaalipalveluita. Näin ikääntyneillä itsellään on suuri vastuu omien voimavarojen huolehtimisesta.
The number of senior citizens in Finland is estimated to grow from the current 16% up to 26% by the year 2030. The most senior citizens live independently at their homes without regular social or health care services. That’s why it is important for senior citizens to be familiar with their own resources and how to maintain them.
The aim of this thesis was to find information on maintaining resources for senior citizens and nursing staff through integrative literature review. The target group was senior citizens over 65 years old living at home on pension.
The guiding questions of this thesis were: 1. What is meant by resource and performance? 2. How are resources maintained? 3. How do resources and performance support each other?
From the gathered material it was evident that there is much less material about resources than there is about performance. Performance and resources are strongly linked, and it is difficult to speak of one without speaking of the other, since both give the other.
To continuation this thesis could be a survey that would be sent to healthcare professionals. With the survey it could be found what problems the personnel have met in their work regarding maintaining and promoting resources. With the survey we can also get relations views on the subject.
