This Bachelor’s Thesis contains a survey of legal terms, recommendations and general standards within safety and work environment setups at Norwegian construction sites. This document is meant as a support manual for Finnish companies interested in running or participating in infra and building projects in Norway.
The purpose of this thesis is to define the systems and regulations used in Norwegian construction and to make the start-up process easier by collecting essential information, in one document translated to Swedish.
As a further help this Thesis has two attachments, a list of organisations and companies useful when starting up a project in Norway and a document explaining important terms translated into Swedish and English. This report will not be focusing on national laws on economy or taxes.
This Bachelor’s Thesis is mainly based on the knowledge gained in my work for Yrkeshögskolan Novias FoU department, within the project Infra Botnia.
One of Infa-Botnias goals is to define the national differences within the Nordic countries concerning the construction and infra construction industry, to support smaller companies in participating and cooperating in projects across borders.
The information in this thesis is primarily based on legal texts and literature in general and will even include support on how to follow the terms. A part of the report will discuss the communication challenges and typical Norwegian workplace norms and culture.
