Global warming is one of the most concerning issues across the world. Mostly human being are responsible for this global warming but the entire planet is the victim by its adverse effects. There are many ways that are destroying our environment every day. Increasing plastic products is one of those, such as plastic shopping bags. Therefore, sustainable development is the biggest topic in the business corporate world. The Human being can play a vital role in the sustainable development in various ways regardless their own views.
This study researches on creating awareness to the modern society regarding our ecology and environmental aspects. Besides, the awareness will encourage people to use eco-friendly shopping bags (BioBag), instead of plastic shopping bags. While people will get used to the using of BioBag, certainly the manufacturing company will be benefited and continue business in a long period of time.
The case company named ‘‘BioBag® World’’. Basically, it is a Norwegian company and production units and market areas are in Europe and North America as well. In addition, a survey was carried out on different age groups and professions of the people. This thesis work determines various opportunities and aspects of sustainable development and environment. This study examines global warming, sustainable environment, and the strategies of various organizations, the consumer behavior and marketplace and future opportunities of BioBag as shopping bag in Finland as well as all over the world.
The outcome of this thesis shows that the surveyed group of people liked BioBag as a shopping bag instead of plastic shopping bag. Moreover, the people are completely agreed that the BioBag is 100% environmental friendly than the plastic bag. The people also think that the can also use BioBag for different purposes and it is also enough durable bag. It would be advisable to the case company to pay more attention the marketing and providing more information to the consumers regarding BioBag
