Tiivistelmä
Internationalisation of education is one of the key development goals among higher education institutes around the world. The network co-operation under the North South-South programme has proved to be an example of successful international co-operation which brings added value to students, teachers and participating organisations.
The network consisted of four partners in Zambezi during 2011-2013. The partners were Karelia University of Applied Sciences (formerly North Karelia University of Applied Sciences, Finland), University of Namibia (Ogongo Campus), Botswana College of Agriculture and Copperbelt University (Zambia). For Zambezi II implemented 2013-2015, the network included additional members from Mulungushi University (Zambia) and Oulu University of Applied Sciences (Finland). The network has been funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland under the North- South-South Higher Education Institution Network Programme, administered by the Centre for International Mobility CIMO.
This publication is a collection of articles based on the topics from two intensive courses of the North-South-South Zambezi and Zambezi II networks, held in Kitwe, Zambia (2012) and in Katima Mulilo, Namibia (2014). The topics of the courses revolved around environmental issues relevant to all actors in the agricultural and forestry sector. The articles have been written by lecturers in different fields of natural resources and from different organisations participating in the network.
