Tiivistelmä
The world economy has been in a decline cycle since 2021. In such an economic environment, competition intensifies, margin profits decrease, and capital costs increase. Small and Middle size Entrepreneurs are keen to find cost-efficient ways to control the cost of software development and improve their competitiveness and efficiency to cope with market pressure and an insecure economic environment. Software development costs consist of cloud services fees, engineer wages, and a portion of revenue extracted by online payment service fees such as Google or Apple pay service fee. This research will analyze the cost of software development for Small and Middle size Entrepreneurs from these three angles, including the mainstream cloud computing service fees, engineer salaries in local markets, and online payment service fees as new era digital land rent. This thesis discusses how to become more agile in running software development projects and cost efficient in software development projects via cost-controlling best practices in three parts.
