Creating a digital marketing plan for the authors family business is the goal of this thesis. By going through and understanding the theory of digital marketing as well as the different components it is made of and implementing the different digital marketing methods and research method a digital marketing plan can be established. Additional objectives for the company are to gain more attraction of guests as well as work to add the company onto online social platforms.
The theoretical background of the thesis includes an understanding of the hospitality industry as well theory on digital marketing and how important it is to businesses. Different components of digital marketing are also explained, followed by the steps needed to take to create a digital marketing plan. All which work together to give the author a basis of how to implement a working and achievable digital marketing plan.
For the research methods and online survey was conducted as well as net scouting. The survey was used to understand the habits if customers when they are looking for a listing as well as the platforms they use. Net scouting was conducted on three separate booking sites. It was used to understand how other companies promote their listings and analyze the reviews from previous guests.
For the outcome of the thesis, it is a digital marketing plan for Great Kudu guest room company which is made up of the theory and research results. For this digital marketing plan, it contains a business summary, target customers with personas, objectives, action plan and analytics. The digital marketing plan is created to be simply understood and implemented as well as cost effective making sure it is attainable for the company.
