Tiivistelmä
Digitalisaatio on yksi merkittävimmistä tunnistetuista megatrendeistä.
Hyvin perinteikkäällä rakennusalalla on tällä hetkellä kuitenkin suuri muutos käynnissä ja uusia toimintatapoja otetaan käyttöön digitaalisten työkalujen tarjonnan kasvaessa yhä enenevissä määrin.
Digitization is one of the most significant identified megatrends. With digitalization, the way of working will change, and with it, new ways will develop. Companies do their best to utilize the possibilities of digitization and use it to create new value for their businesses and for the company's internal needs.
Another significant trend in the industry is the introduction of the Lean philosophy into processes and the utilization of its principles in one's own operations. In the construction industry, this is currently culminating in the growing popularity of takt production, which aims to improve the productivity and efficiency of projects, shorten lead times, and improve quality. Takt production is a Lean method that aims for as systematic, flow-efficient, and value-producing operations as possible by reducing waste from the production process.
For a long time, the construction industry has been lagging other industrial sectors, specifically in terms of productivity and in the utilization of digitalization. However, the very traditional construction industry is currently undergoing a major change, and new operating methods are being introduced as the supply of digital tools grows to an ever-increasing extent. The subject of this study is to investigate the coordination and implementation of these two trends in construction production.
The purpose of the research is to provide tools to companies that are considering the best operating methods for utilizing pace production and digitization in their own operations or are currently considering changing their own operations to meet future challenges and needs.
The research is the final thesis of a university of applied sciences, and it was commissioned by YIT Suomi Oy.
