The objective of this thesis is to provide a report covering Swedish language mental health services for young people resident in Uusimaa. The aim of the report was to achieve a clear picture of where young people can turn to for help with mental or social issues receiving this help in Swedish, and the intention to connect young people with the service providers. The questions this thesis attempts to answer are: Where in Uusimaa can young people receive mental health services in Swedish? What services do the municipalities, the private sector, the third sector and local congregations offer? The service providers’ webpages were the main source of information, and where required providers were also contacted by phone to establish the availability of services offered in Swedish. The collected information was analysed by the means of a manifest content analysis. The first part of the research findings presents the issues, as recognised through the collected information, for which young people seek and receive help. The main issues were identified as mental health issues, development issues, loneliness and the need for someone to talk to, family issues and family involvement in the care of the young people, relationship and sexuality issues, school and work issues, crisis and trauma situations and eating disorders. The available information on the webpages of service providers was often found to be incomplete, thus the result of the content analysis is not as comprehensive as initially was hoped for. The second part of the research findings introduces the service providers according to municipality in order to give a clearer picture of where young people can find mental health services in Swedish. The report lists mental health services as offered by the municipalities, the private sector, the third sector and local congregations. Based on these findings it can be concluded that all municipalities with a duty to provide mental health services to young people in Swedish were able to do so through either internal provision of care or through subcontracting. Whether the services offered are sufficient can not be determined based on the information collected for this assignment.
